Privacy Notice
Last updated: July 9, 2026
1. Who We Are
menticert.com(“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides self-study practice exams, learning tests, and flashcards for IT and cloud certification preparation. We are the controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice. This notice should be read together with our Terms of Use.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — the email address you register with, an optional display name, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile information (name, email, and avatar) from Google.
- Usage and progress data — information generated as you use the Service, such as tests and exams you open and your interactions with the site.
- Purchase information — if you buy access, records of your transactions. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
- Technical data — information your browser sends automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, and essential cookies needed to keep you signed in.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you (including sign-in with Google);
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its content;
- process purchases and provide access to paid features;
- communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates;
- protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires it, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service and process purchases), your consent (for example, optional communications), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service — primarily to maintain your authenticated session. These cookies are required for the site to function. We do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service and only as needed, including:
- Authentication providers (e.g., Google) when you choose to sign in with them;
- Payment processors (e.g., PayPal) to handle transactions;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that store data on our behalf;
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
7. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then retain and use it only as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Unverified registration data may be deleted automatically after it expires.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — including password hashing and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@menticert.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with this notice and applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
The Service links to third-party websites and resources (such as official certification documentation). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their notices.
13. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by other appropriate means.
