Overview
What this certification is and how the exam works.
The 300-410 ENARSI exam — Implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services — is a CCNP Enterprise concentration exam that, combined with the 350-401 ENCOR core exam, earns the CCNP Enterprise certification. It is the deep routing exam in the track and is heavily weighted toward troubleshooting rather than initial configuration. The blueprint covers Layer 3 technologies (35%) — administrative distance, route maps, prefix lists and redistribution with loop prevention, EIGRP neighbor and path selection including feasibility and stub behavior, OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 adjacency, LSA types, area types and summarization, and BGP peering, path selection, attributes and filtering; VPN technologies (20%) — MPLS label operations and L3VPN with VRFs, route distinguishers and route targets, and DMVPN phases with NHRP and mGRE; infrastructure security (20%) — device access control and AAA, ACLs including time-based and IPv6, uRPF, control plane policing, and IPv6 first hop security; and infrastructure services (25%) — device management, SNMP, syslog, NetFlow, IP SLA and object tracking, Embedded Event Manager, NTP, and DHCP. The exam runs 90 minutes.
Why should I take the exam?
What this credential does for your career.
- 1Completes CCNP Enterprise when paired with the 350-401 ENCOR core exam
- 2The deepest routing exam in the enterprise track — it goes well beyond CCNA-level protocol knowledge
- 3Weighted toward troubleshooting, which is what the job actually consists of once a network is built
- 4BGP, MPLS L3VPN, and DMVPN skills transfer directly to service provider and large enterprise WAN roles
- 5Strong preparation for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure lab, which assumes this material
Skills measured
What you need to know to pass this exam.
- ✓Troubleshoot administrative distance and route selection between competing sources
- ✓Build route maps, prefix lists, and distribute lists to filter and manipulate routing updates
- ✓Perform mutual redistribution between protocols and prevent the routing loops it can create
- ✓Troubleshoot EIGRP neighbor formation, feasible successors, stub behavior, summarization, and load balancing
- ✓Configure and troubleshoot EIGRP named mode and authentication
- ✓Troubleshoot OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 adjacency, network types, and DR/BDR election
- ✓Interpret OSPF LSA types and choose the correct area type for a design requirement
- ✓Implement OSPF summarization, virtual links, and authentication
- ✓Troubleshoot BGP peering for both iBGP and eBGP, including next-hop and synchronization behavior
- ✓Apply the BGP path selection algorithm and influence it with weight, local preference, AS path, and MED
- ✓Filter BGP with prefix lists, AS-path access lists, communities, and route maps
- ✓Explain MPLS label operations and troubleshoot L3VPN with VRFs, route distinguishers, and route targets
- ✓Configure and troubleshoot DMVPN across phases 1, 2, and 3 with NHRP and mGRE
- ✓Secure device access with AAA, privilege levels, and hardened management planes
- ✓Implement ACLs including extended, time-based, named, and IPv6 variants
- ✓Apply uRPF, control plane policing, and IPv6 first hop security features
- ✓Configure SNMP, syslog, and NetFlow for monitoring and troubleshooting
- ✓Use IP SLA with object tracking and Embedded Event Manager to automate responses
- ✓Troubleshoot NTP and DHCP including relay and option behavior
