The 300-420 ENSLD exam — Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks — is a CCNP Enterprise concentration exam that, combined with the 350-401 ENCOR core exam, earns the CCNP Enterprise certification. It is the design exam in the track, and it is deliberately different in character from ENARSI: questions ask which design satisfies a stated requirement and what trade-off a choice implies, rather than which command fixes a symptom. The blueprint covers advanced addressing and routing solutions (25%) — hierarchical IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and summarization, EIGRP and OSPF scalability and area design, BGP scaling with route reflectors and confederations, and route redistribution and filtering design; advanced enterprise campus networks (25%) — hierarchical and spine-and-leaf topologies, Layer 2 and Layer 3 boundary placement, STP and FHRP selection, campus high availability, and wireless and multicast design; WAN for enterprise networks (20%) — MPLS L3VPN, SD-WAN, internet and metro Ethernet transports, WAN high availability and resiliency, and site-to-site VPN design; network services (20%) — QoS strategy and models, multicast, network management and monitoring design, and DNS, DHCP and IPAM; and automation (10%) — SDN controller architectures, YANG data models, NETCONF and RESTCONF, and REST API design considerations. The exam runs 90 minutes.
